Why does my browser block the Insurance Report PDF from opening in a new tab?

Accepted Answer

Some browsers (especially Chrome on mobile) block PDFs opened from scripts as popups. To avoid this:

• Use the "Download PDF" button — it always works and saves the file locally.
• The "Open in new tab" button is a real link, so if it's still blocked, check your browser's popup settings for axeprotector.com and allow popups.
• On mobile, tapping "Download PDF" and then opening the file from your downloads is the most reliable option.

The preview inside the page always shows the full report, so you can review it before downloading.

The "See on Reverb" link doesn't open — what should I do?

Some browsers or extensions block new tabs opened from inside a dialog, so the Reverb marketplace link may appear to do nothing when you click it.

Try these fixes, in order:

• Open AxeProtector in an incognito / private window — this disables most extensions (ad blockers, privacy tools) that block cross-site popups.
• Allow popups for axeprotector.com in your browser settings, then reload the page.
• Disable any ad blocker or privacy extension (uBlock Origin, Brave Shields, Ghostery, etc.) for axeprotector.com.
• As a last resort, copy your guitar's make, model, and year and paste them into a Reverb search yourself: https://reverb.com/marketplace

The AI value estimate inside the dialog will still work even if the Reverb link is blocked.

What documents should I attach to each instrument?

Upload anything that proves what you own and what it is worth: the original receipt or invoice, a written appraisal, your insurance policy or schedule, a certificate of authenticity, and invoices for any repairs or upgrades. The receipt supports the purchase price, an appraisal supports the current value, and repair invoices show upgrades that add value. Open an item, scroll to Documents, and upload PDF, JPG or PNG files up to 10 MB each. Files are private to your account and only you can open them.

How does the service log help with insurance or resale?

The service log keeps a dated record of every setup, fret job, electronics work, restoration and general repair, together with the shop and what it cost. AxeProtector totals lifetime service spend for each item and shows it on the instrument page and in your insurance PDF report. That gives an insurer evidence the instrument was maintained rather than neglected, and gives a future buyer a clear, credible upkeep history that supports your asking price.

What is AxeProtector Seller and how is it different from Pro?

Pro is your vault: catalogue guitars, amps and pedals with photos, serials, receipts and service history, and download the insurance-ready PDF. Seller is the selling side of the same collection. Pick an item you have already catalogued and Seller drafts ready-to-post listing copy for Reverb, eBay, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, helps you choose and order the photos, suggests an asking price range, and records the sale in a sales journal. They are separate subscriptions, so you can use Pro on its own or add Seller when you plan to sell.

Can I try Seller before paying?

Yes. Your first listing is free — you can build one complete listing including the title, condition, asking price range and photo selection, so you can see exactly how it works. Once that free listing is used, creating more listings and using the marketplace copy and sales journal features requires a Seller subscription.

What does Seller cost and can I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Seller is $9/month or $90/year (two months free on the yearly plan). It is billed separately from Pro. You can subscribe, switch plans or cancel any time from Account → Billing; if you cancel, Seller stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your listings and sales records stay in your account.

What is the sales journal and tax summary?

When you mark a listing as sold, Seller records the sale date, sale price, marketplace fees, shipping cost and buyer notes. The Sold tab then shows your sales for each year with total sale proceeds, total fees and shipping, net proceeds, and profit compared with what you originally paid — and you can export the whole year as a CSV for your records or your accountant. Please note the CSV is a record-keeping aid, not official tax documentation; check with a tax professional about how sales of personal property should be reported where you live.
